Violet Prescott grew up in a privileged family. She’s never had the best relationship with her mother as well as her older brother, Blake. When Violet and Blake were younger, they fought all the time.

The only thing that piqued her interest when it came to her brother was his best friend, Grayson. She wrestled with her crush on him for years until her dream turned into reality.

She found solace through romance books and has been a reader since she was in middle school. Now, she’s studying entrepreneurship and marketing at Sunset Cove University.

Along with her education, she works at Sweet & Salty, Sunset Cove’s romance-only bookstore. She’s in the process of starting her own small business, a PR company for authors.

Grayson Becker had a rough childhood. He had to grow up quickly, so he could take care of his mom. He spent most of his high school years living in a blur. Now, he’s the captain of the Sunset Cove University basketball team. On top of his extracurriculars, he’s studying sports management and nutrition. He has dreams of getting drafted into the NBA.

Grayson was Blake’s best friend from elementary school up until high school. When Grayson and Violet were teenagers, they became inseparable and shared an all-consuming type of love. Unfortunately, something traumatic happens that causes them to vanish from each other’s lives.

Six years later, Violet surprises Grayson at one of his basketball practices. Before Grayson can get back into a relationship with her again, he needs to find out what happened on that terrible day all those years ago.

As the two of them reminisce, they re-discover their intense feelings for one another may not be as buried deep as they thought they were.
